YogaCafe Moves to Canberra

I have spent the last 8 years in Sri Lanka where I taught yoga mainly from my rooftop in Colombo.  We had great times up there and you can link to my other blog for my Sri Lankan students to find out more.

But now I am back in Canberra and am happy to continue sharing yoga with the people who live here or who are just passing through.

My yoga practice is a reflection of the teachings of my teachers, Paddy McGrath and, lately, the Yoga Synergy founders Simon Borg Olivier and Bianca Machliss (who I now realise I was at uni with!).  Please link to them on my main page.  They are truly great teachers and where possible it is best to go to the masters.

I hope that after coming to one of my classes you will feel great.

The practice can be strong--with lots of challenging postures--but it should be strong in a way that brings about calmness.

The practice should bring stability--to the body as you learn how to move in ways that are healthy, and to the breath as you learn to reduce the fluctuations of the breath, which in turns helps bring about a more stable, peaceful state of mind.

The practice should bring freedom--throughout the body with fluid, easeful movement, and, again, to the mind as you realise yourself to be better than you ever thought you could be!

Please take a look at my other blog posts to find out more about how I teach and practice.  If you think that is something that you could do with in your life, then get in touch or come along to class!

Until then, may your practice be peaceful, safe, and happy.
